One of the most awaited movies of 2010, We Are Family, a remake of Stepmom has released the music on CDs. When it comes to K Jo (Karan Johar), one knows how he handles his music, paying attention to the minutest of detail!Composed by Shankar Mahadevan, the soudtrack contains 6 tracks, each of which stand out from others!
There is an overriding soul-style sound in this soundtrack that seems very appealing. It s more pronounced in the piano-laden “Reham O Karam”, that starts blissfully serene before escalating its notes, and in “Sun le dua”, an all-out mellow tune that rides entirely on Bela Shende, Shreya s scintillating vocals. Rahat-led “Aankhon mein Neendein” is predictably sweet; the Sonu-Shreya duet “Hamesha & Forever” has a captivating chorus going for it.
Jailhouse Rock s desi twist, “Dil khol ke”, seems like sacrilege, but works eventually due to Anushka…and Suraj Jagan s vocals!
Karan Johar ish predictability, with a new-found maturity. –platform47.com
