What is Gaanmela?
Music is a part of Indian culture and tradition. There is no way to separate the identity of an Indian from music. Be it a marriage ceremony or Puja festival, music is always a part of it. Bengali Music is extremely rich and has a very old history. Gaanmela.com tries to explore the glorious past of Bengali songs, walks with the evolution to the recent pop and band culture.
www.gaanmela.com caters to all Bengali Music afficianados.
Goals of Gaanmela:
Our main endeavour is to promote music created by artists from India, Bangladesh and other countries in the field of Bengali Music. New singers and bands will be featured and promoted on our website and they will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in promotional videos that will be featured on our site.
Popular artists and their interviews will also be an integral part of our website wherein, one can get to know more about them and their work. Interaction between the established ones with the young and budding ones with help the growth and make all stay in touch with ever changing bengali music trends.
We will also review websites owned by various bands, singers, fan-sites and offer help and suggestions other than reviewing music albums and live events.

What Kind of Interviews do we offer?
Telephonic Interview:
If you are a new artist you can email us and we will set up an appointment for the telephonic interview. It will be great if you could provide us with additional material such as photographs, contact information, and promotional clips of your songs as these help in building up the identity of the artist. We can also relay updates on your performance gigs to the viewer. In short, we will keep the viewer updated on the goings-on at your end.
Video Interview:
Video interviews will give the viewers an opportunity to have a glimpse of the world of their favourite musicians. Unfortunately, there are several constraints here, like, time and their expensive nature. We are currently offering video interviews to a subset of bands/singers only. If you have personal video recordings of your songs we will be glad to showcase them on our website.
Written Interviews:
Often we may send you a set of questions in form of an interview. You can answer in written form and send us back.
